With the launch of its new AI-powered business-calling feature, users can now ask Google to call businesses on their behalf. Whether you’re looking for a pet groomer, a restaurant reservation, or the nearest mechanic, the AI will dial up the business, collect information on availability, pricing, and services—and deliver the results back to you, no manual calling required.

A Google spokesperson clarified that the AI always announces itself at the beginning of every call, stating that it is “an automated system calling from Google on behalf of a user.” This transparency ensures businesses know they’re talking to an AI, not a person.

🧠 Gemini 2.5 Pro Now in AI Mode

In addition to the calling feature, Google is upgrading its AI Mode with the integration of Gemini 2.5 Pro, a powerful model designed for advanced reasoning, mathematics, and coding tasks. Users subscribed to Google AI Pro or Ultra tiers can now select Gemini 2.5 Pro from a drop-down menu within AI Mode for more robust and intelligent interactions.

The business-calling feature is rolling out to all Search users in the United States, with higher usage limits for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.
