Vodafone Tests AI-Generated Presenter in TikTok Ad

| AI News

Vodafone has begun experimenting with generative AI in its advertising campaigns. A recent TikTok ad in Germany featured a virtual presenter promoting the company’s high-speed internet plans and a €120 cashback offer.

Viewers quickly noticed unusual details, such as disappearing moles, unnatural hair movements, and subtle inconsistencies, sparking speculation about the presenter’s authenticity. Vodafone later confirmed that the character was AI-generated, stating, “AI is so much a part of everyday life these days that we also try it out in advertising.”

This is not Vodafone’s first step into AI-driven marketing. Last year, the company released a fully AI-generated commercial, highlighting its growing focus on digital innovation.

The move reflects a broader industry trend, with brands increasingly adopting synthetic influencers. Virtual personalities like Lil Miquela have already collaborated with major brands including Calvin Klein, Prada, and BMW, signaling a shift in how companies engage with audiences online.
